Qingdao to Beijing USD$ 380.00

Qingdao is a famous resort town and Beijing has so many places to go and things to do!

Consider arriving the night before, as the group heads off to the famous Laoshan Mountain on the day that you start your sector. Arriving the night before by pre booking an extra night at the hostel (via our website) will mean you don't miss this great day trip. The first night of your sector is often spent with the group exploring the Qingdao nightlife, and has been known to end with Karaoke! The next day is a free day to explore the "Old Town" of Qingdao, perhaps the German quarter or lay on the beach with a book or play some beach volleyball, perhaps a bit of sailing? However you spend it, we're sure you'll enjoy Qingdao.

After transfer to the train station we'll board the "bullet train" to Beijing.  Tickets to this train are often the subject of a "No ticket" response for backpackers, but not for Dragon Bus.   Arriving in Beijing you'll have enough time to experience some in the afternoon and the next day.   The sector allows you to join us on one of our many guided tours, follow your own senses or for the more spirited go it yourself.  The sector ends after you've climbed the Great Wall, which is certain to be a highlight before the sadness arrives as your Dragon Bus Experience is nearing its end!  However, to make sure you enjoy your last night make sure you don't miss mega party at the hostel

Greater outline:
Day 1 - Qingdao

Qingdao is an amazing place!  Plan to have at least two (2) full days to explore this seaside resort City before heading to Beijing with Dragon Bus.  If you do, join the group to famous Laoshan Mountain, whose water is used exclusively to make China's most famous beer - Tsingtao (or Qingdao).  The mountain is famous and scared Buddhist site as well.  Perhaps an  additional day to tour the originally German built concession, which is rich in history and German architecture. Hit the beach (in summer) with a book or go for a swim (indoor pools for winter!), but make sure you're at the hostel for our pre departure roof top BBQ!  A great cosmopolitan seaside city, before heading with Dragon Bus to Beijing.

Day 2 - Qingdao to Beijing

Today we rise early for transfer to the Railway station where we'll take the "bullet" train to Beijing. "Backpackers" often hear "No, ticket" when trying to buy such tickets, which of course is not a problem while travelling with Dragon Bus. Once in Beijing we transfer to our Hostel and with the afternoon spare start exploring Beijing as there is so much to see and do. The nightlife of the Chinese capital awaits the group tonight.

Day 3 - Beijing

A free day for you to continue exploring the grand capital of the Peoples Republic, or maybe just recover after a big night?  We offer a number of City Tours, however many places can be explored by yourself. The 798 Modern Art area is one attraction we're sure will impress you.  The Temple of Heavens, Tiananmen and Forbidden City are also top on the lists and given they are a short walk from the Hostel, ohh so easy!   As night comes, head out of the Hostel and dine in one of the local restaurants.

Day 4 - Beijing

An early morning start for the quintessential China experience - The Great Wall.   The Wall will leave you amazed at its sheer size and grandeur. This ancient marvel is included for our travellers, so don't get caught paying $50 for the experience. On return you get the chance to hear an overview Traditional Chinese Medicine at Tongrentang. This pharmacy was established in the 1669 by the Qing Emperor to serve his Royal Court.  A 30 min foot massage at the end will also only set you back 20 RMB.  Tonight the group can dine like the emperor and kick on to enjoy one of the many bars of this metropolis.

Day 5 - Beijing

Your last sleep is over and it's time to say goodbye?   However, Beijing is another town where IF you spend less than four (4) days you may a lot that this City has to offer.   If you intend to stay, make sure you book your room or bed as a new group will start from the Hostel the following day.    There are many options, one of which would be to perhaps take the overnight train to Xian and complete the sector from Xián to Zhengzhou.
