Outline
On this one-day tour around Beijing, we are going to take you on a journey through Beijing's best bargains. Your trip will be led by a western bi-lingual Dragon Bus Trip Leader. Today, you will whet your appetite with this cities' tasty shopping options. We will show you that Beijing is not just a place of fake markets.

Leaving your hotel at 8am, you will travel south to the famed Pan Jia Yuan Antique Market. Arriving a little earlier, you will arrive before the hordes. Apart from selling antiques and bric-a-brac, this market will give you the opportunity to experience the local culture in an everyday setting. You will have time to not only browse this famed market in peace, but also, increase your chance of finding that one off bargain.

From Pan Jia Yuan, we travel a short way to the mother of all pearl palaces. In terms of value for money, there is no better place than this. You will find numerous stalls dealing in pearls from all over the world with prices that start at spare change and go up to platinum card. This is also a convenient place to buy those small gifts necessary whenever one returns from an overseas trip.

Our final destination before lunch is going to allow you just a quick peek into 500,000 square feet of shopping insanity (without the touts). Here you will find no fake goods, only ridiculously cheap prices. This is somewhere you will definitely return so we will stay for only a short time.

Lunch will be a departure from those tacky, two bit, tourist restaurants. Traditional noodles, hand made in front of you will be the order of the day. Good wholesome food, and a performance as well. After lunch, we move onto an area housing a number of individual boutiques. These boutiques include jewellery designers, hat makers, as well as a number of clothing designers.

Our final shopping destination is an old, traditional Beijing alley. Here you find some of the finest cashmere in the world, at fantastic prices. As well as cashmere, there are a multitude of shops selling all manner of locally designed goods. From Beijing inspired t-shirts, traditional Beijing toys, quirky jewellery and clothing. This area abounds with places to give you your caffeine fix as well.
