China's "first and only" Independent Travel Network - Western Run & Managed
Dragon Bus is the ONLY independent flexible, affordable and safe option for "independent" travel in China! Why was Dragon Bus started? Traditionally travelling in China offered little choice outside standard "Package Tours", often with inflexible & rushed itineraries not to mention little to no customer choice. The huge complexities of China's transport system make it difficult, even with local knowledge, to get around let alone for most that have language skills. Independently travelling in China often left many with a feeling of hassle, rather than happiness.
Dragon Bus China is a team of international professionals who share in excess of fifty (50) years dealing with China. Management has either lived or is living, worked or are working and studied in China. We are also avid travellers and have used the "Hop On & Off" type of travel we have created for China. Yes, be safe in the knowledge that our management team has alone travelled to in excess of sixty (60) different countries, many on numerous occasions.
So here are the Management Team, we haven't included our western Tour Leaders as the page would be too long!
Paul KELLY - Managing Director
Paul has been involved in the travel industry for the last 8 years, running tours to countries such as the UK, Holland, Germany, USA, Argentina, Chile, Malaysia and Greece. Most recently, this also included the largest independent group from Australia to China for the Beijing Olympics with over 300 people! Prior to setting up his previous business, Paul had toured extensively as an independent traveler, as well as worked in countries including the UK, Ireland, Europe, USA, Canada, Asia and South America. An avid sports fan, Paul is married with 2 children - Claire and Oscar.
So here are the Management Team, we haven't included our western Tour Leaders as the page would be too long!

Vicky WANG - DirectorA China native and now Australian citizen, Vicky has developed a number of very successful businesses over the last 15 years since moving to Australia. Vicky's knowledge and contacts in her homeland have been instrumental in us being able to establish Dragon Bus. Vicky continues to develop and maintain the much needed Chinese contacts it takes to put and then manage such a project. Vicky maintains the ongoing relationship with our China office to ensure that our service providers are providing our clients with a China experience, but she is very aware of the slight nuances that can make a foreigners trip in China a real success.
Andrew PAPAS - Operations Director (Beijing) After organising logistics for the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Andrew packed his bags and moved to China. He studied Chinese at Capital Normal University in Beijing, before moving to live in Shanghai and opened a business assisting students heading to Australia. Andy then worked for one of the world's premier inbound travel operators, which saw him move back to Beijing, where he is now based. Andy's wealth of experience working in the travel sector in China, along with his language skills are a huge asset for Dragon Bus which will ensure its smooth running and development
Borja MARTINZ OTERO - Operations Manager (Shanghai) A wealth of passion for living in china, Borja brings a real positive energy to our shanghai and eastern region operations. A Spanish native who has lived in the bustling Shanghai for several years, he brings the passion of the Spanish with the excitement of modern day Shanghai to our operations. However, Borja is acutely aware of the cultural & historical wishes of our clients needs while in China
Shelley YE - Australia Manager
Shelley is now based in our Sydney office, after relocating from China to Australia with her husband. Shelley continues to manage our partners and Australian based operations. Shelley has extensive experience in the travel industry over the past 10 years and has been part of the Dragon Bus project since its inception, and has been instrumental in the design and sourcing in China. Shelley easily grasped this entirely new concept from the start and has been instrumental in working with service providers to ensure that we get the products and service that our clients will want and not what they get on your "China Highlights" package tours. A real bonus to the Dragon Bus Team.

Gavin SLAUGHTER - Director Tour Development
Gavin first travelled to China in 2003 after completing a Chinese language course in Australia. The magic of China got him and he stayed beyond his planned 3 months. Returning to Australia Gavin put his language skills to good use working for both Australian and Chinese consulting firms. Gavin is part of the wider management group and uses his culture and language skills to assess and develop our current and new Passes. An avoid traveller who enjoys modern Shanghai as much as the rugged North West regions of China.

Dan ROBERTS - Web & Business ConsultantDan is currently a consultant to Dragon Bus, advising on several aspects of the business. Dan has an amazing wealth of knowledge in the backpacker and independent travel market from his work with similar companies Kiwi Experience and Stray Travel.
China Staff
Tian TAN - Managing Director (Partner) Tian is the managing director of our China office. Mr Tan has a wealth of experience in the travel industry over the past 25 years and has worked in various different management and operational positions. The guidance of Mr Tan in the implementation of our concept has been one of the main reasons our launch has been so successful.
Sun WEN - Logistics Manager Sunny take control of the behind the scenes logistics for the operations of the routes. A journalist by training she moved into tourism to expand her opportunities and we're glad to have her overall management skills, along with her ability to handle incoming communication in either English or Chinese.
Corey SUN - China Tours
Corey left behind 6 years of "Package Tours" as he was sick of the commission generating style of such tours. Looking for something different Corey came to Dragon Bus. Corey now works behind the scenes educating our China based service providers in the Independent Travel concept, not an easy task given the entrenched mindset of tour, accommodation and transport operators in China. A valuable asset to make sure our Passes are "Independent."
Corey left behind 6 years of "Package Tours" as he was sick of the commission generating style of such tours. Looking for something different Corey came to Dragon Bus. Corey now works behind the scenes educating our China based service providers in the Independent Travel concept, not an easy task given the entrenched mindset of tour, accommodation and transport operators in China.
