Real China Adventures
Authenticity is the latest buzzword in all forms of travel, however finding it can be increasingly embarrassing, frustrating or just plain disappointing!
Dragon Bus was designed for independent travellers or those just looking to experience real China. W we're not a "package" tour with packaged cultural & historical sites, we're about giving you real China, real people, real sites & real choices. However, we are (and you should be) aware of how difficult China can be to travel in this manner.  So Dragon Bus is your platform to experience this with real support every day, in every way!
The Great Wall! The shining icon of China. History and culture that shouldn't be "packaged" into a day trip including a westernised Chinese lunch. Dragon Bus will show you a renovated section of the Wall, however the next day you can explore an "as is" section where you can trek across various watch towers in the steps on Genghis Khan himself. Chengde

Chengde Summer Palace
(4 hrs from Beijing) is a priceless piece of Chinese history. Do you know it's the world's largest Imperial Garden covering 5.6 sq km and is 3 times larger than the Summer Palace in Beijing with as much history? This is where the Chinese Qing Emperor ceded control of Hong Kong to the British!

Qufu
The Ancient and classic city of Qufu is another example of an amazing city many travellers simply miss. Qufu was the hometown of Confucius and is not on the "package tour" radar (Great!). This city could easily be a highlight of a trip to China, and ranks very high on our best cities.

Xuzhou - What do you think of the chance to give an informal talk to hungry learners of English in cooperation with a English learning college? This has also been described as a highlight for some clients, and those taking part have also ended up having dinner with many grateful Chinese families at their favourite local restaurant. Now where else can you have this type of adventure while on a package tour?
Kungfu

Shaolin - Think Karate Kid & home to the Shaolin Monks. So how do you get here? Where do you stay? Where do you eat? Can you get there without being taken to commoditised "Kungfu" academy or "Shaolin Temple?" Not only do we spend a day in Shaolin (not nearby Dengfang). You get the chance to explore the real magical parts of this amazing village by yourself, climb a mountain overlooking the Village or be instructed by a Kungfu Master.

Tongli WatertownWhat about the famous canal towns of eastern China?  Would you be happy following the standard tourist trail to Zhouzhuang or Tongli?  (where you won't find Dragon Bus) Dragon Bus will be at one of the last remaining functioning canal towns, where locals still live, eat and play. We'll leave the tourist canal towns to those that are happy with that sort of travel, perhaps while not knowing they are missing a living breathing canal village!
nanjing china
Mt Huang or Huangshan is a magical place and a site that you shouldn't miss. The city itself is a labyrinth of old streets with vendors selling local ware and amazing local sweets. The hostel where we stay is right in the centre of the action, which is why it was chosen. A great fit for independent minded travellers. We're sure you'll experience more atmosphere in this hostel than any of the cities hotels!

Huangshan China
T
here are just some of many Cities that Dragon Bus travels through. China is an amazing place, a country of so many different sites, tastes and sounds, and of course people. Travelling to China should not leave people saying "It's as modern as Sydney, London or LA." If you do think that at the end of travelling China you obviously didn't travel with Dragon Bus!
