THE ENVIRONMENT & OUR COMMITMENT
China has had its share of good and bad news about its environment. Perhaps some has been sensationalised, some true. Dragon Bus China obviously values our partnership with China so we're committed to doing our bit to protect its environment, heritage sites and where we can we hope to do our bit to even improve the environment in which we operate.
DRAGON BUS TRAVEL IS 100% CO2 OFFSET!!
How do we do our bit for the environment? Dragon Bus has formed a partnership with Climate Friendly, a leading environmental company who manage our assessed carbon footprint. What does this mean? Every trip undertaken by Dragon Bus is 100% carbon output offset. Yes there is "No opt in or opt out" or voluntary contribution. We pay the entire amount to cover our co2 output. This contribution go towards the development of wind farms in areas throughout China.

As a company, we are committed to limiting the amount of printed material that we publish as part of our promotions and marketing campaigns.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Independent Travellers can help the local environment simply by spending their money in the local economy. Visiting local attractions and eating in local restaurants also help. How? - Did you know that package tours keep around 50% of that package tour cost in the country of booking. This can deprive locals of much needed income. Dragon Bus travel is a combination of bus and train travel, which is one of the most efficient methods of travel. How? Research has asserted that travelling by bus is in excess of 450% more fuel efficient (per person) than a hybrid car.
Dragon Bus believes that our partner hostels do their bit as well. Using a hostel is one of the most environmentally sound accommodation forms. We believe that the Hostelling Model in China is now leading the way in supporting and strengthening the environmental consciousness of the new generation of Chinese as well.
We believe that continual improvement is vitally important within the travel industry. These include consumption, re-use and recycling, pollution, energy use, transportation, the external environment, and environmental education. Dragon Bus staff are aware of the social conscious needs of our clients. We understand that travellers today like to give something back to a country they travel through that may not be as fortunate as their own. We are in the process of setting up links with various charities to allow our clients to volunteer their time and give back to local projects while visiting China.
OFFICE PROTOCOLS
We believe in reducing our environmental impact in the day to day management of our tours. Dragon Bus directors either walk or ride a bicycle to the office each day. Once there, we only use natural light for our office during daylight hours. We don't print emails and we re-use any paper we do use for internal printing. All computers are shut down and turned off at the end of each day. This is all just another way we are doing our bit for the planet.
